Our Legacy
Uncle Remus has been a part of Chicago’s West Side for generations. I am proud to be a third-generation member of the Ricketts family, continuing the legacy established by my grandfather, Mr. Gus Ricketts Sr., and carried forward by my father, Mr. Gus Ricketts Jr.
Today, I honor their vision by operating my Uncle Remus location with the same commitment to quality, service, and community that has defined our family’s name for decades. While other Uncle Remus restaurants are independently operated by members of the Ricketts family, our location proudly continues the family’s tradition and remains dedicated to serving Chicago with the recipes, hospitality, and values that have made Uncle Remus a West Side favorite for generations.
